An interview session was conducted by the Directorate of Quality Enhancement (QEC) to select and evaluate students for the formation of the Students Council for Academic Learning and Enhancement (SCALE).*
Apart from QEC officials, the selection panel included the Director, Student Affairs; Assistant Registrar, Academics; and Dr. Nizar Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology.
Establishing a student body is a key requirement of the _Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE), PSG-2023_ by the Quality Assurance Agency, HEC. This policy emphasizes student engagement in university academic affairs and aims to contribute to their continuous improvement and enhancement.
During the session, nominated students from all university departments were thoroughly interviewed. Their understanding of various university policies related to academic matters was evaluated. Students from both the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities who demonstrated sufficient knowledge of university academic affairs and the confidence to voice their concerns were selected accordingly.
As per PSG-2023, one Lead Student Representative from the Sciences and one from Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities were selected. In accordance with the TORs of SCALE, these Lead Student Representatives will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of academic matters that directly affect students, submit their feedback to the QEC, and represent student concerns at the Institutional Quality Circle.
